Morecambe Bay Pottery Return And Refund Policy

At Morecambe Bay Pottery, Caroline (AKA Abi) Alston takes pride in creating unique, handmade ceramics with care and love. We want you to be delighted with your purchase. This Return & Refund Policy explains your rights and our procedures if you wish to return an item purchased from Morecambebaypottery.com. This policy is written in accordance with UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and is in addition to your statutory rights.
1.1 Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy affects your legal rights under UK law. As a consumer, you are entitled to a refund, repair, or replacement if goods are faulty, not as described, or unfit for purpose.
For online purchases, you also have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods, with some exceptions (see below).
1.2 Returns for Faulty, Damaged, or Misdescribed Items
If your item is faulty, damaged on arrival, or not as described, please contact us at help [at] morecambebaypottery.com within 30 days of receipt. You are entitled to a full refund, repair, or replacement.
Notify us within 30 days of delivery for a full refund.
Please provide your order number, receipt, or other proof of purchase.
We will cover the cost of return postage for faulty, damaged, or misdescribed items.
Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned item or proof of return, using your original payment method.
1.3 Change of Mind / Cooling-Off Period (Distance Selling)
If you purchased online, by phone, or by mail, you have the right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving your item (the "cooling-off period”).
Notify us in writing (email or contact form) within 14 days of receiving your order.
After notifying us, you have an additional 14 days to return the item.
Items must be returned unused, in their original condition, and packaged to prevent damage. Original packaging is preferred but not required if the item is safely packed.
Unless the item is faulty, you are responsible for return postage costs unless we failed to inform you otherwise before purchase.
We will refund the full purchase price, including the basic delivery cost, within 14 days of receiving the returned item or proof of return.
Enhanced delivery costs (e.g., express shipping) are not refundable.
Exceptions
The right to cancel does not apply to:
Custom-made or personalised ceramics (e.g., items made to your specifications or with custom inscriptions).
Items that have been used, damaged after delivery, or are not returned in a resalable condition (unless faulty).
1.4 How to Return an Item
To initiate a return, please:

We will provide return instructions and, if applicable, a prepaid return label (for faulty items).
Pack the item securely to prevent damage in transit. We recommend using tracked postage and obtaining proof of posting.

1.5 Refunds
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the returned item or proof of return.
If the item is not returned in its original condition (except for faults), we may deduct an amount to reflect any loss in value.
If you paid for enhanced delivery (e.g., next-day), only the standard delivery cost will be refunded.
1.6 Exchanges
If you would like to exchange an item (e.g., for a different colour or style), please contact us. Exchanges are subject to stock availability. If an exchange is not possible, a refund will be offered in accordance with this policy.
1.7 Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned unless faulty or not as described:
Custom-made or personalised ceramics
Items damaged after delivery due to misuse, accident, or improper care
Items returned more than 28 days after notification of cancellation (unless faulty)
